Shutter Down Strike In QUETTA..

QUETTA: Awami National Party (ANP)held a Shutter-down strike against twins suicide bombings in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan on Sunday.

QUETTA July 14: Shutter-down strike was observed Saturday across Balochistan including its capital city on call by Awami National Party (ANP) against Kuchlak bloodshed. It should be mentioned here that the senior vice president of Pashtun Students Federation and five others were killed and at least 22 people injured Friday in Kuchlak where a bomb went off near the venue of public meeting of the Awami National Party. The injured included the ANP provincial president Aurangzeb Kasi, his wife and some other party activists. A seven-year-old girl, who was passing through the area at the time of the explosion, is also among the dead.The commercial areas and other business centers of Quetta including Liaquat Bazaar, Jinnah Road, Abdus Sattar Road remained close with less than routine traffic was witnessed on roads.Expressing grief over the killings and condemning the Kuchlak massacre, Pakhtunkhwa Mili Awami Party, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Anjuman Tajiran (traders’ organization) announced complete backing for the strike.The strike was effectively marked also outside Quetta in areas including Pishin, Kuchlak and Chaman on the ANP’s call with shutters of shops pulled down.Meantime, the ANP also announced three-day mourning against the terrorist incident.Balochistan government also observed a day of mourning against the tragic bombing which targeted female students in Sardar Bhadur Khan Women University along with officials and nurses in Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta. .There is security high alert in the city with security agencies on mark around the city to avert any untoward situation.
